Gallery Attendants are responsible for keeping the Gallery and artwork secure during open hours.  The individual is also responsible for greeting visitors and answering their questions as thoroughly as possible. The position of Gallery Attendant is essential to the workings of The Art Gallery. The Attendant is the host and protector of the exhibition. She or he is the first and the last person a guest encounters. Therefore, the attendant is expected to be personable, approachable, and willing to answer questions. It is imperative that the Gallery Attendants stay in the gallery at all times and stick strictly to their shifts.  Gallery Attendants will also be asked to occasionally help with light office duties and to work at exhibition openings and related events.

A Gallery Attendant must by reliable and responsible employee capable of completing small tasks at the request of any gallery staff member. The Attendant must have customer service skills and be informed to address public inquiries. Furthermore, the Attendant must have no hesitation when enforcing The Art Gallery regulations or confronting a potential problem.
